Bottom of the 9th

Okay sports fans, it’s the bottom of the 9th and the question on everyone’s mind is: Does Team Trump have any chance at scoring any runs in the last game of “Is there any justice in America?”

Thus far, justice appears to have the edge at 4 – 0. But you never know what kind of players Trump may send to the plate.

Oh, first up, looks like . . . yes, it’s Rudy “Shifty” Giuliani. Hasn’t had a hit through 8 innings, so Trump seems desperate.

The Stormy Daniels case looks like it could be a big win for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg if he can get the ball over the plate and not just issue an indictment but clinch a favorable outcome.

He’s into his windup. Here comes the first pitch and . . .  Strike One!

As you may remember, “Shifty” had his license to practice law suspended after a New York appeals court found the former mayor lied that the 2020 election was stolen from his client Donald Trump. Hard to tell if Giuliani has any more fight left in him.

Bragg is feeling pretty confident at this moment.

Here comes the pitch and . . . Strike Two!

Trump comes out of the dugout yelling at one of the district court judges acting as the plate umpire. We can’t hear what Trump is saying, but it doesn’t look like he’s inviting him to Mar-a-Lago anytime soon.

The ump motions Trump back to the dugout, now.

Bragg doesn’t waste any time with his next pitch.

Strike Three!

Bragg threw an inside curve that just knocked Rudy on his heels.

While Giuliani has nothing to do with the Daniels case, Trump felt confident he could at least score a solid single for the “Zipper.”

Trump’s out of the dugout, again, and it looks like.

“Time!” the umpire calls as Trump hurls more invectives.

While we have a break, let’s take a moment to review the 4 runs that justice has worked hard to advance.

First up, of course, is the Stormy Daniels case where the pert, persuasive, porn star, oops, former porn star was paid $130,000 to hush her up about her one-time affair with the former president. The crime involves Trump not only falsifying business records but possibly violating election laws. While Trump claims that the whole issue is just another trumped-up witch-hunt, Daniels continues to claim that she was paid the money by Trump fixer Michael Cohen adding that the former president “was the worst 90 seconds of my life.”

Ouch.

New York Attorney General, Letitia James, is working on a civil lawsuit alleging that the Trump Organization lied to lenders and insurers about its assets.

In Washington, the Justice Department is working on two issues: a special counsel is investigating that classified, top-secret documents were illegally transported to Trump’s Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago; and his efforts to interfere with the 2020 election that precipitated the insurrection of the Capitol.

In Fulton County, Georgia, prosecutors “prosecutors are contemplating racketeering and conspiracy charges against Trump in his direct effort through phone calls and other evidence to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is expected to announce charges soon.

Alright, the players are back on the field and it looks like the next batter is, yes . . . Rupert Murdock. I have no clue about Trump’s play here. Murdock owns Fox News which has been involved in a lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems. Previously unreleased emails show that Fox personalities knew the voting systems were working fine, but lied about it, nonetheless, Even Murdock appeared to know he told investigators.

Murdock is a lot older than the other players. Trump could be hoping that the old man could be susceptible to a beanball allowing him to take first base.

Wait . . . Justice has just pulled Bragg. The manager gives him a little pat on his behind telling him he did what he was supposed to.

Okay, coming out of the bullpen, now. . . yes, Justice is putting in Justin Nelson. Wow. The Dominion attorney who’s said to have a blazing fastball doesn’t take any warm-up pitches. I guess he feels warm enough to strike out the old . . .

WOW!

Another surprise. Murdock swung and fell at the plate before Nelson’s pitch was out of his glove. That’s all for Murdock.

It’s anyone’s guess who Team Trump is going to put up next.

Uh, oh. storm clouds are forming and it’s a downpour. We’re waiting for an announcement.

Yes, they’ve called the ground crew out and are covering the infield. We’re being told that we’re all going to have to wait until this storm passes to see what happens next.

Will Justice prevail? Or will Team Trump “find just find me 5 runs” to win the game?

  1. Thanks for keeping on top of this Jim. The optimist in me hopes that Justice will score.
