Thank GOD, this monumental piece of legislation has passed an all-important hurdle.

I don’t know about you, but getting unanimous consent for a bill like this restores my faith in the two-party system where both sides can set aside their grudges, come together and pass the most meaningful legislation in  . . .  I don’t know how long.

Officially known as The Sunshine Protection Act, Florida Senator Marco Rubio has put in an impressive number of hours to get this done.

“Why do we keep doing it?” Rubio said. “I think the majority of the American people’s preference is just to stop the back and forth changing. But beyond that, I think their preference is . . .  to make daylight saving time permanent.”

And don’t pay attention to those fake medical “experts” behind the curtain. You know the ones, like Jocelyn Cheng, a member of the American Academy for Sleep Medicine’s public safety committee, who said, “Standard time, for so many scientific and circadian rationales and public health safety reasons, should really be what the permanent time is set to.”

Who could understand all that?

She’s just using one of those Jedi mind tricks to make us think standard time is better.

I’m all for tossing out the For the People Act, that would “expand Americans’ access to the ballot box, reduce the influence of big money in politics, strengthen ethics rules for public servants, and implement other anti-corruption measures for the purpose of fortifying our democracy.”

And forget about studying the Firearm Licensing and Registration Act which would “provide for the licensing of firearm and ammunition possession and the registration of firearms, and to prohibit the possession of certain ammunition.”

We all know that hasn’t a snowball’s chance in hell in passing, anyway.

And while we’re at it, you can add:

The Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021 that would require “background checks for every firearm sold.” (This bill is the very embodiment of infringement of my Second Amendment right.)

And, thank you, Congress for pushing aside The Gun Safety: Not Sorry Act of 2021 that would “amend title 18, United States Code, to provide for a 7-day waiting period before a semi-automatic firearm, a silencer, armor piercing ammunition, or a large capacity ammunition magazine may be transferred.”

I’ve been waiting six months, living in fear that my my order for four semi-automatic Bushmasters with silencers from Remington might not be delivered before this legislation becomes official. (Wait, I think I hear the UPS driver outside. Is that my order?)

Thank God, ALL these pieces of legislation have been held up in the House . . . but wait, there’s one important piece of legislation that just might, might gain traction.

House Resolution 57: “Impeaching Joseph R. Biden, President of the United States, for abuse of the power by enabling bribery and other high crimes and misdemeanors.”

We all know that it’s high-time to propose vital legislation to stop the steal, and other high crimes and misdemeanors, and Georgia’s redoubtable freshwoman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene may have just done it with H.R. 57.

As you may already know, “Greene co-founded a CrossFit gym, CrossFit Passion, in Alpharetta, along with Travis Mayer, a CrossFit athlete, before leaving the business in early 2017. In a 2015 interview, Greene said that when she and Mayer founded the gym, they knew little about how to run a business.”

Come on! Get off her case. With that kind of experience, why wouldn’t she succeed in helping Georgians in Congress.

With all the urgent issues facing the country and the world at this moment, does the Senate have the right priorities?
