If you are a Trump supporter, you need to seriously consider the observations of the people who worked closely with him during his 4 years in office:

“His understanding of global events . . . of US history was really limited. It’s really hard to have a conversation with someone who doesn’t even understand the concept for why we’re talking about this.”—Rex Tillerson, Secretary of State

“The President has very little understanding of what it means to be in the military, to fight ethically or to be governed by a uniform set of rules and practices.”—Richard Spencer, Secretary of the Navy

“We don’t take an oath to a wannabe dictator. We take an oath to the Constitution, and we take an oath to the idea that is America – and we’re willing to die to protect it.”—Gen. Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs

“The depth of his dishonesty is just astounding to me . . . he is the most flawed person I have ever met in my life. A person who admires autocrats and murderous dictators; a person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law.”—John Kelly, Secretary of Homeland Security and White House Chief of Staff

“He is the domestic terrorist of the 21st century.”—Anthony Scaramucci, one of many White House Communications Directors

“I am terrified of him running in 2024.”—Stephanie Grisham, Communications Director

“Fundamentally, a second Trump term could mean the end of American democracy as we know it, and I don’t say that lightly. We all witnessed him trying to steal a democratic election before and go to historic and unconstitutional lengths to do so.”—Alyssa Farah Griffin, Communications Director

“The fact that he feels that he needs to lean into being a dictator alone shows that he is a weak and feeble man who has no sense of character and integrity and has no sense of leadership. I think that Donald Trump is the most grave threat we will face to our democracy in our lifetime, and potentially in American history.”—Cassidy Hutchinson, Aide to White House chief of staff Mark Meadows

“He is a consummate narcissist . . . constantly engages in reckless conduct. He’s a very petty individual who will always put his interests ahead of the country’s, his personal gratification of his ego, but our country can’t be a therapy session for a troubled man like this . . . Someone who engaged in that kind of bullying about a process that is fundamental to our system and to our self-government shouldn’t be anywhere near the Oval Office.” —Bill Barr, Attorney General

“The President undermined American democracy baselessly for months. As a result, he’s culpable for this siege, and an utter disgrace.”—Tom Bossert, first Homeland Security Advisor

“Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people – does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us. He is more dangerous than anyone could ever imagine.”—James Mattis, Secretary of Defense

“Trump has this impression that foreign leaders, especially adversaries, hold him in high regard, that he’s got a good relationship with Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un. In fact, the exact opposite is true. I have been in those rooms with him when he’s met with those leaders. I believe they think he is a laughing fool.”—John Bolton, National Security Adviser

“He poses the gravest threat to democracy that we’ve ever seen,””—Ty Cobb, White House Lawyer

“To this day, he still doubles down on the fact that he thinks that the election was stolen and fraudulent. And then his rhetoric has just gotten increasingly erratic. I mean, he has literally called for things like doing away with parts of the Constitution, wanting to weaponize the DOJ to enact revenge on his political enemies.”—Sarah Matthews, Deputy Press Secretary

“We saw the absence of leadership, really anti-leadership, and what that can do to our country.” President Trump and other officials have repeatedly compromised our principles in pursuit of partisan advantage and personal gain.”—H.R. McMaster, National Security Adviser

“I have a lot of concerns about Donald Trump. I have said that he’s a threat to democracy. I think the last year, certainly the last few months of Donald Trump’s presidency, will look like the first few months of the next one if that were to occur.”—Mark Esper, Secretary of Defense

“It will always be, ‘Oh, yeah, you work(ed) for the guy who tried to overtake the government.’”—Mick Mulvaney, Acting White House Chief of Staff who was later appointed US Special Envoy to Northern Ireland and resigned in the aftermath of January 6

“He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him. And we can’t let that ever happen again. A terrible thing happened on January 6 and he called it a beautiful day.”—Nikki Haley, U.N. Ambassador, resigned after January 6

“That behavior was unconscionable for our country. There is no mistaking the impact your rhetoric had on the situation, and it is an inflection point for me.”—Betsy DeVos, Secretary of Education, resigned after January 6

“Yesterday, our country experienced a traumatic and entirely avoidable event as supporters of the president stormed the Capitol building following a rally he addressed. As I’m sure is the case with many of you, it has deeply troubled me in a way that I simply cannot set aside.”—Elaine Chao, Secretary of Transportation, resigned after January 6

“Anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be president of the United States . . . President Trump demanded that I choose between him and the Constitution.”—Mike Pence, Vice President

It’s important to note that all of these people were selected and appointed by Donald Trump.
